The People Behind Neve Ziviya

Rabbi Asher Freund is the guiding force behind Neve Ziviya. Rabbi Freund, a noted Torah scholar and spiritual mentor of Jews in Israel and abroad, has started a number of Israel charitable organizations that address critical needs in Israeli society.

Neve Ziviya is named in memory of Rebbetzin Ziviya Freund ZT”L, who, along with her husband, was a tireless worker for the disadvantaged.

Rabbi Avraham Kipper was handpicked by Rabbi Freund to lead Neve Ziviya. Rabbi Kipper is an innovative problem solver who takes tremendous interest in his clients, and is as proud of their successes as he is of his own children. Rabbi Kipper develops a close personal relationship with each Neve Ziviya client. This finger-on-the-pulse approach enables Rabbi Kipper to assess his clients’ needs and develop effective programming to address societal problems before they reach a crisis point.

Rabbi Yehuda Porush is the educational director of the Neve Ziviya Therapeutic Yeshiva High School. As Supervisor of Social Welfare for religious students in Jerusalem and Bnei Brak, Rabbi Porush has vast experience and unique insight into the educational and social needs of at-risk religious youth. He has been instrumental in developing and founding numerous innovative educational frameworks for these children and youth throughout Israel
