When attacks on the roads near West Bank settlements were at their peak, some mothers of young families left jobs rather than risk their lives traveling to work. Reluctant to ask for financial assistance, these large families reduced spending to a minimum – yet often could not even cover bare essentials.
Community leaders, noting the alarming poverty of these families, called Neve Ziviya, which brought blankets, winter clothes and food packages on a regular basis.
Neve Ziviya actively seeks out the hidden poor, those too proud - or too shattered - to ask for help from other welfare organizations. We are proud to serve remote Israeli communities that aren’t supported by other charitable organizations.
Many organizations provide assistance for Israel’s poor: Neve Ziviya keeps its “ear to the ground,” in order to find those who are hardest to reach, discretely providing assistance to needy clients from the entire spectrum of Israeli society.
